Every baluster, railing, molding profile, and millwork element is inspected for cracks, gaps, previous paint failures, and surface irregularities.
All joints, gaps, and nail holes filled and caulked. This is what gives millwork its finished, built-in appearance rather than looking like it was added after the fact.
All millwork surfaces sanded smooth and primed with a wood-specific primer. Bare wood and previously painted surfaces are treated differently — we know the difference.
Two coats of semi-gloss or satin finish applied by brush and roller with the care that intricate profiles require. No spray shortcuts on detailed millwork — brush control is everything.
